Advaita Vedanta Teachers from the Netherlands | Holland

In this post, you’ll find an overview of Dutch Advaita Vedanta teachers and gurus. To be clear, “Dutch” is not “Deutsch” (people from Germany), but refers to the people of the Netherlands (by the way, the Netherlands is commonly called Holland).

Further below, you’ll predominantly find Advaita and Neo-Advaita teachers who are actually Dutch or, alternatively, have their main residence in the Netherlands. It doesn’t mean these teachers don’t travel abroad. They may do, but to know which countries they visit and their schedules you’ll need to check out their websites.

Nevertheless, not all teachers necessarily give Satsangs (meetings with the teacher). Moreover, not all who are listed in this post are Advaita teachers in the sense of helping others to attain Spiritual Awakening. Some are rather focused on theoretical Advaita Vedanta philosophy, concepts, and history, and so on.

Mind also that Dutch teachers basically speak Dutch as the main language during Satsangs, although many would be able to reply in English if you would pose your question in English. Some may have translators available during their Satsang meetings. In any case, it’s wise to first inquire what’s the case.

In addition, several of the Dutch teachers in the list are not among us any longer (such as Douwe Tiemersma or Alexander Smit), but we’ve still mentioned them because their work continues — lives on, and some of their previous websites are still maintained or we’ve found websites that expound their work.
