Cannabis Clinics and Dispensaries

In this post, we briefly explain the difference between a Cannabis Clinic and a Cannabis Dispensary. Mind that some organizations combine both functions.

Cannabis Clinic

A Cannabis Clinic, also called Medical Marijuana Clinic, is commonly operated by non-medical staff, physicians, or traditional medicine healers who are specialized in designing and/or prescribing Cannabinoid treatments.

These Cannabis treatments are aimed at relieving or curing (symptoms of) certain health conditions, such as multiple sclerosis (MS), muscle spasms, sleep disorders, chronic pains, inflammations, gastrointestinal problems, PTSD, anxiety, seizures, among other issues.

Cannabinoid treatments typically include CBD (Cannabidiol) and THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) compounds, but may also involve other Cannabinoids found in Cannabis.

Depending on the country and its laws, you may receive an official medical prescription for a Cannabis dosage or perhaps rather a certified health document authorizing you to legally buy a monthly amount of Cannabis.

Cannabis Dispensary

A Cannabis Dispensary is more like a licensed storefront company that gives information about Cannabis, and sells ready-made and ready-for-use Cannabis products and Cannabis paraphernalia (equipment).

Depending on the laws and regulation in a country or state dispensaries may sell their products to any adult, or, by contrast, only to those who have a medical prescription from a physician or Medical Cannabis Clinic.

Mind that you can also encounter recreational Cannabis Dispensaries, but their availability depends on individual countries and states and the applicable laws.
