Infertility with Unknown Causes | Unexplained Infertility

Infertility with unknown causes (also called unexplained infertility) is the case when sperm quality has normal standards, the woman ovulates regularly with a good ovarian reserve and good egg quality, when the fallopian tubes are open and the uterus lining is in good shape, and the sperm can reach the egg and fertilize it (with or without help from artificial reproductive technologies).

In other words: everything seems “normal” and favorable, but still there is no pregnancy or no successful pregnancy.

Sometimes, further in-depth and rigorous analysis may suddenly explain the reasons, which may be anatomical or genetic abnormalities, abnormal development of the egg, luteal phase abnormalities, hormone imbalances, and whatnot.

In any case, about twenty to thirty percent of infertile couples (statistics depending on the country) have unexplained infertility issues. In these cases, alternative and complementary treatments, traditional genital and abdominal massage and bodywork, or traditional energy work, may be the last resort to try to re-stimulate the genital and reproductive system.
