On the Internet you can find so-called Nuru Massage Kits that offer a set of tools and materials, but it depend much on the sellers what you will find in it. Moreover, the vast majority of Nuru Kits offered are far from complete.
For instance, the Nuru Kit may only consist of Nuru gel or Nuru gel powder with a bowl to mix it in or warm it in, or the kit may also include a waterproof sheet to be used on a mattress or bed, but on the whole you’ll not find much more in it.
Although you could argue that a waterproof sheet and some Nuru gel is all you really need, that’s of course far from the truth, as you will see for yourself further on in this post.
At any rate, here below the list of all the tools and materials you need for a Nuru Massage, which will also help you to choose an additional Nuru Massage Kit that can complement your needs.
Bathroom or Shower Facility
It’s important to have a bathroom or shower facility close by to cleanse yourself before the Nuru session and to cleanse yourself afterwards.
Towels
Before the Nuru session, you will need towels to dry yourself after your bath or shower, but you should keep in mind that your skin should stay somewhat wet and damp for the Nuru gel to function well when you spread it over your bodies.
In addition, you’ll need towels for after the massage. That is, to dry yourself after a shower or bath when you’ve rinsed off the excess Nuru gel.
It’s also convenient to have an extra towel available to wipe off Nuru gel that may have leaked on unwanted surfaces, like on the floor, on your carpet, or wherever.
An extra towel may also come handy to place under the head for more comfort (to be used as a pillow) or as an extra support to not slide away.
Nuru Gel
Nuru gel is of course a key ingredient in a Nuru Massage. You can make Nuru gel yourself or buy it ready-made or in powder form.
To prepare the Nuru gel (if it’s in powder form or as a concentrated gel) you will need an extra glass or bowl to gradually mix the powder or concentrated gel with (warm) water until it has reached the preferred consistency.
Nuru Gel Heater
To warm up the Nuru gel you’ll need warm water in a big bowl or so, in which you can place your Nuru gel dispenser or the Nuru gel container (which is often also a bowl).
Alternatively you can also find electric gel heaters on the market to be purchased.
Comfortable and Safe Nuru Massage Surface
Because of the use of plenty amounts of slippery Nuru gel and subsequently to avoid damaging your bed or mattress, Nuru Massage is performed on a waterproof sheet, rubber sheet, inflatable air mattress, or inflatable massage sheet.

Air mattresses are usually placed on the floor, although they may also be placed on a bed.
As for vinyl or plastic waterproof sheets, you can just place them on your bed. Alternatively, you could also use large towels which may also work for you.
You can also buy special waterproof Nuru pools, just like an inflatable swimming pool, to be placed on top of your bed and which have higher edges so that the gel doesn’t leak on the floor. It also helps preventing that you or your partner slip and fall on the floor.
If you don’t use a pool you can also place towels at the edges of your bed or mattress (under the plastic or vinyl sheet) which will likewise prevent leaking or falling on the floor.
Water
Make sure you have enough water at hand to drink if needed during the session to stay hydrated, but certainly for after the Nuru session. You will be thirsty!
Warm water may also be necessary during your session to mix more Nuru gel.
Accessories
If you want to create a particular atmosphere or ambience for your session, you might want to have some accessories available which can include things like candles, incense, blindfolds, dim lights, and/or music, etc. Well, your imagination and preferences are the limit here.
Another thing to think about is having lubricants and /or condoms at hand in case your Nuru session will be followed by sexual intercourse.
Keep in mind that oil based Nuru gel can damage latex condoms, so before using a condom cleanup well. Alternatively, you can use polyurethane condoms, which can handle oil-based lubricants.
