An abundant blood circulation through the prostate is generally considered essential for an optimum supply of nutrients, effective lymphatic drainage, and proper prostate function.
Notably in traditional medicine systems hot herbal compress massages are used for men as a means to improve blood circulation in the abdominal and pelvic area in general, and in and around the prostate and testicles in particular.
It’s thought that using hot herbal compresses over a prolonged period of time can reverse or alleviate Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) and can stimulate important nerves and blood vessels around the prostate for healthy sexual function, such as for getting an erection and combat Erectile Dysfunction (ED). Additionally, herbal compresses can alleviate prostate and pelvic pains.
Herbal compresses also contain specific herbs that are thought to be beneficial for the internal reproductive organs. The types of herbs used vary significantly depending on the type of traditional medicine system adhered to (for instance, there are differences in application between Thai, Chinese, or Indian Ayurvedic healing arts, etc.) or even depending on local and regional differences within one system.
Herbal compresses used for male genital health can be applied stand-alone, as a single treatment, but more often they are integrated in a range of so-called Manhood Massages, such as Karsai Nei Tsang, Jabkasai, and Urut Batin.
