Further below in this post, you’ll find a brief video demonstration of several techniques that can be used to give Thai Acupressure. The video accompanies our free Thai Acupressure Support Guide, which contains an in-depth discussion about Thai Acupressure and Thai Pressure Points concepts.
In Thai Massage, the masseur will often use the thumbs or other fingers to apply acupressure to pressure points on the receiver’s body, but other body parts such as the hand palms, knuckles, elbows, feet, heels, or knees may also be used. In addition, specific tools can also come of help, such as wooden sticks, stones, and Thai herbal pouches.
In general, Thai Acupressure is given over the clothing of the receiver without the use of oils or creams. Nonetheless, acupressure can also be applied directly on the unclothed body. The latter may be carried out by using oils or other topicals, but it may also be done without.
In the video, I show you some ways of how to give Thai Acupressure with the thumbs, the elbows, feet, and knees on different body parts of the receiver. It’s just a small subset of what you can do, just meant to give you the idea.
