For many arriving in Thailand by way of Bangkok, or passing through and hopping to another region in Thailand, the famous Khao San Road area (Khaosan or Kao San), including the nearby Rambuttri Road, is the place to spend a few days or more, or at the least makes an interesting area to visit.
The Khaosan Road area has historically been the primary hotspot for backpackers. You’ll find many types of budget accommodation, alongside up-trend guesthouses and hotels, and really a myriad of travel agencies, restaurants, bars, and nightclubs, and a large number of shopping opportunities.
In fact, it’s most probably not really the first place that comes to mind in Thailand to take a Thai Massage course or workshop, but then again — for those who have some time to spend in Bangkok and stay in the area, it might be an attractive opportunity to take a training course close by.
At any rate, for other Traditional Thai Massage training options in Bangkok, or in the rest of Thailand, check out some of the related articles below this post.

Wat Po Medical Thai Massage School
The Watpo Thai Traditional Medical Massage School is not located directly in the Khao San Road area, but it’s rather easy to reach within fifteen minutes taking a taxi or Tuk-Tuk (around 100 BAHT), or thirty minutes taking the river boats (walk to the end of Rambuttri Road, cross the street, you’ll find a taxi-boat pier — take one of the orange flagged boats to the Watpo Temple pier, a 20 minutes boat ride, and only about 15 BAHT or so).
You could also walk to the school, but that would take you an hour, an hour fifteen minutes stroll along the Chao Phraya river passing the Grand Palace. We mention the Wat Po school because it’s really not so far from Khaosan and it would be an excellent opportunity to take a Thai Massage or Thai Foot Massage training course at the most famous Thai Massage school in the world.
