- “Reusi Dat Ton” is a phrase in the Thai language that means: the Hermit (Reusi) who Stretches (Dat) Himself (Ton);
- Reusi Dat Ton primarily contains self-stretching and self-massage exercises;
- In addition to stretches and massage, Reusi Dat Ton also involves breathing exercises, visualizations, chants, and meditation.
- Reusi Dat Ton exercises can be performed in standing, sitting, and lying positions;
- There are more than 200 different types of Reusi Dat Ton exercises;
- Reusi Dat Ton is considered the origin and foundation of Thai Massage;
- Reusi Dat Ton increases fitness, strength, flexibility, and overall wellbeing, but is also applied for therapeutic purposes.
- A typical Reusi Dat Ton session takes about 30 minutes and can be carried out daily.
- There are 2 famous Reusi Dat Ton exercise sets: The Wat Pho Temple 18 exercises and the ITTM 15 exercises.
- The breathing techniques used in Reusi Dat Ton are unique: you often hold your breath while doing exercises to push Vital Life Force Energy (Lom Pran) into and across your body.
