The idea of Womb Meditation — also called Womb Healing Meditation, Womb Cleansing, or Uterus Meditation — is to create a space for healing, activation, and re-awakening of a woman’s sacred sexuality and sensuality.
Although Womb Meditation has an obvious relationship and overlap with so-called Yoni Gazing, Womb Meditation could be seen as a specialization of Yoni Gazing, one that more explicitly involves a woman’s generative, reproductive organ, this sacred space that is the birthplace of Life.
At any rate, blockages in the womb region, caused by fear, guilt, shame, abuse, post-operative, abortive, or postnatal issues, can give rise to physical and emotional problems in many domains, such as relationships, sexual intercourse, orgasms, and fertility.
The meditation — usually implemented as a Guided Meditation — helps to clear out blockages in the womb and usually consists of a combination of Breathwork, body awareness exercises, imagery, mudras and bandhas, mantras, and affirmations.
Typically, work, attention, and awareness is directed to the pelvic and sacral region of the body and/or to the Sacral Chakra.
