Yoni Mapping, also called Vaginal Mapping, Vulva Mapping, or Vulva-Vaginal Mapping, is part of the Genital Mapping paradigm and an exploration and discovery of the internal and external parts of the Yoni in order to find areas of numbness, contraction, disconnection, and tension on the physical but also on the emotional and spiritual level.

Yoni Mapping can have quite some different health benefits, unique for each woman (or Yoni owner), all depending on the underlying physical or emotional issues one experiences and the progress that’s made together with the Yoni Mapping therapist.
In addition, the effects and results of a mapping session also strongly depend on the type of Yoni Mapping that’s performed. That is, Yoni Mapping therapists may have different proficiencies and different approaches. Some are Body-Oriented Psychotherapists, others are Somatic Sexologists, Somatic Sex Coaches, or Sexological Bodyworkers, each using their own specific massage and bodywork toolset, methods, and techniques.
At any rate, we have already pointed out the general aims in a previous post about Yoni Mapping, but here below we simply sum-up the most common possible health benefits:
- Relaxation of pelvic and abdominal tensions and relieve or healing of pelvic and abdominal pains;
- Restoration of body awareness, sensitivity, and (muscle) control with regard to vaginal or vulva areas of numbness and disconnection;
- Physical and/or emotional reconnection to one’s body after an operation in the pelvic or abdominal area, or after a miscarriage/abortion, or after having delivered a baby;
- Uncovering, release, and/or healing of emotional and/or sexual trauma, or release of shame and guilt in relation to sex or to one’s vagina/vulva;
- Education about the vagina and vulva, allowing for increased self-care, self-love, wellness, and control, improved libido and more sexual pleasure, and enhanced self-knowledge and self-connection;
- Improvement of sexual relationships by increasing self-awareness, self-knowledge, and confidence;
- Alleviation or healing of painful or uncomfortable sex or of other sexual disorders and/or dysfunctions;
- Resolving incontinence issues by helping with attaining pelvic floor health;
- Increase of menstrual health, that is, balancing menstrual cycles, and/or alleviating menstrual pains or menstrual irregularities;
- Support in managing life transitions, such as menopause, pregnancy, motherhood, a new sexual partner or post-breakup issues, and so on.
